Bounded by the four roads these are a particularly tranquil set of allotments. Quite a few had fallen into disuse and needed restoration.
Allotment Clearance Days
The Association led by Nick Ball and a team of volunteers have cleared 2 of the largest allotments on area A and begun work on a third. Brambles were cleared and overgrown hedging cut back with a massive pile of waste accumulated. A particular problem is self set sycamores which in places have taken over and will take some time to finally clear. There is now just the one remaining allotment left to clear which is being tackled over 2020/2021. Unfortunately this allotment has been subjected to dumping of builders spoil including a number of pieces of grey slate type material which appears to be a terrace material.
Thanks to everyone who has come down on the days and worked so hard, making a real impact on clearing the area.
